Facebook commerce is beginning to look like a real area of growth for eCommerce. Not just brands that transact on the social networking site but those like Ted Baker who appear to be testing the water and sending people through to their website.
Facebook shopping platform Payvment has said that since launching “I Want It” and “I Own It” buttons in November last year that their customer numbers have risen from 500,000 to 1.1 million.
Facebook’s new Timeline apps have made it easier to sell through the social network. In addition, new Open Graph and Facebook Connect functionality means that ‘f-commerce’ won’t necessarily have to be ‘on Facebook’ anymore.
